Joe Burns graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Civil and Structural engineering. Out of college Joe was hired by Northern States Power Company to work as an engineer and project manager in their nuclear power plant, achieving the level of Senior Civil Engineer in their Nuclear Engineering Department. Joe left the power company to become President and CEO of Burns & Associates, a large design/build general contractor. In 1985 Joe and his family moved to Sanibel Island and immediately became involved in the real estate sales and development business on the island. He is a Florida Licensed Engineer as well as a Florida Licensed Real Estate Broker and is past president of the Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club. Joe and Joan eventually owned their own real estate company, Helen Thomas Realty before selling it to Coldwell Banker in 1998, becoming a part of the Coldwell Banker team. Since joining with Coldwell Banker Joe and Joan have been members of their prestigious International President's Elite, a national award given to the top ten percent of all agents in the entire company nationwide. Joe was voted the best realtor on Sanibel and Captiva in 1998 and again just recently in 2003 with his wife Joan.

Joan Burns graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in social services. She has been a real estate agent on Sanibel and Captiva Islands for almost 20 years. She was voted best female real estate agent on Sanibel and Captiva in 1997 and again in 2003 she was voted the best real estate agent on the Islands with her husband Joe. She was co owner of Helen Thomas Realty with her husband Joe and has also been a member of the Coldwell banker International President's Elite for being in the top ten percent of all agents in the nation. She has the knowledge and expertise to obtain the title Previews Property Specialist which is reserved for those Coldwell Banker Sales Associates who have shown an exceptional aptitude for marketing and selling luxury properties. Joan has always been very active in the community and is currently president of a non-profit Florida corporation that provides housing for handicapped and developmentally disabled young adults in Lee County.

Jeff Burns graduated from the University of Florida earning a bachelor's degree in finance with a minor in economics. He continued on to earn a Masters Degree in Finance with a specialization in Real Estate from U.F. In 1997 Jeff was honored by being accepted for an internship with United States Senator Connie Mack in Washington D.C. representing Florida. Jeff was hired directly out of college and became a loan officer for Sanibel Captiva Community Bank. Jeff has grown up on Sanibel and Captiva Islands attending Sanibel Elementary and eventually Bishop Verot High School in Ft. Myers.
